For what it's worth - I'm just the opposite.

I have a whole lot of different systems to maintain, and I'm not a linux/unix
specialist. I rely on well-maintained packages to get stuff installed, and
kept reasonably up-to-date.


Hi Ian,

I'd LIKE to rely on well-maintained packages. Unfortunately, I've just had bad experiences with package maintenance & maintainers - particularly for more complex & obscure software.
