Interesting.

Question: Which version of Sympa are you running? Because recent 
versions no longer run as fastcgi *in* the webserver but externally via 
spawn-fcgi and the server then connects via

  SetHandler "proxy:unix:/run/sympa/wwsympa.socket|fcgi://"

to it. That circumvents the core problem you are seeing completely, I think.
