I have set up a separate instance of apache running the sympa code as 
user sympa group sympa, all to no avail,
I still get the same, frustrating symptom.

I don't believe that the files in the spool directory are created by the 
apache process at all, I'm guessing that they
are created by sendmail.

All I need now is for one of you to tell me what you have *really* done 
when you have installed this package.

I'm going to re-read the installation documentation again for clues, but 
I'm beginning to wonder why I didn't
opt for mailman instead....
