Hello,

I just installed a Sympa mailing-list server (version 6.2.70, replacing a Mailman one and importing its data) on a server running Linux Debian 12 (Bookworm), using the Debian standard package for installation.

I would like to add an unsubscribe link (and eventually some other contents) at the bottom of each message sent by my Sympa mailing lists.

For that purpose, I followed the instructions described here:

https://www.sympa.community/manual/customize/message-personalization.html#adding-unsubscription-links

That is, I created a template file named “message_footer” inside the directory /var/lib/sympa/list_data/<list_domain>/<list_name>, containing:

--
Pour vous désinscrire de cette liste : [% 'auto_signoff' | url_abs([listname],{email=>user.email}) %]

(yes, this is French language)

and I added the following lines to the file named /etc/sympa/<list_domain>/robot.conf:

personalization_feature on
personalization.mail_apply_on footer

The result is that each message sent by the list ends now by the following contents:

--
Pour vous désinscrire de cette liste : [% 'auto_signoff' | url_abs([listname],{email=>user.email}) %]
… meaning that the expressions inside were not evaluated, whereas I expected to have them replaced by a real URL.

Please could you tell me what I am missing there?
Are the instructions that I followed valid for Sympa 6.2.70?

Alternatively, I would also like to know if it is also possible to make this configuration once (thus globally) for all mailing-lists of all domains on my server, or to do it once for all mailing-lists of each domain domain on my server?

Regards,

Gingko.
