Here’s something that may be of use to people.

 

If you add the Custom Header to your list configuration:

 

  X-Auto-Response-Suppress: DR, OOF, AutoReply

 

then this will prevent Exchange/Outlook mail clients from sending their ‘out of office’ messages back to the list reply address.  It only seems to work with Outlook, but it has certainly helped on our site.
