Dear list,

thanks for all your replies.

David, did you get one message or two (indentical) ones from Dylan?

I do not know. But in my opinion, we do not understand each other.

It is not about that the Reply-To-header gets set.

1. I send an e-mail to the list with my MUA.

My address is address@concealed, the list’s address@concealed and the Reply-To header
is set to address@concealed.

2. You receive that email.

a) You use an MUA (email client).
i) You can hit reply-to-all. → To: address@concealed and CC: address@concealed
Now I should receive !two¡ messages. One directly and one over
the list.

→ Problem: I only received the direct message from David. There
were no list headers set. So my question is, if Sympa is
filtering this or Google Mail. In Mailman this is configurable.

Avoid duplicate copies of messages?

When you are listed explicitly in the To: or Cc: headers
of a list message, you can opt to not receive another
copy from the mailing list. Select Yes to avoid
receiving copies from the mailing list; select No to
receive copies.

If the list has member personalized messages enabled,
and you elect to receive copies, every copy will have a
X-Mailman-Copy: yes header added to it.

ii) You can hit reply-to list.¹ → To: address@concealed
Now I only receive one message with the list headers set.

b) You use the Sympa/Web editor.
→ What happens if you set reply to both. Is Sympa filtering the
message and just sends me one message or do I get both.

So is this Sympas work and is this configurable?

Thanks,

Paul
