Hi, just small notice, You don't need to have IP address for every hosts

enough (all domains leads to this IP). Apache just parse user's request

Yes, you know, I was being a bit stupid. I realized after writing
that I was just missing the part where you can point a ScriptAlias in
a bunch of different hosts to the same wwsympa.fcgi location; I was
thinking you would need to run a different wwsympa.fcgi process for
each host or something. But of course not, it's as simple as you say. Now we just have to figure out how to get 150 or so new IP addresses
from our ISP for all the virtual hosts... :)

Thanks for the input, and sorry to waste everyone's time!

Hi Vasek,
what you say is true for http requests. However, https is not as easy, because of the SSL protocol. See:
http://www.g-loaded.eu/2007/08/10/ssl-enabled-name-based-apache-virtual-hosts-with-mod_gnutls/

I haven't tried this myself, just googled a bit. I am planning to have named based virtual robots using https myself, but I wanted to avoid to set up a separate IP for each.
