I'm just completing your email to make sympa users adopt good customization habits :
For upgrade sake, you should never ever customize scenarios or templates in the bin/etc/ directory. Sympa has some search rules for all custumizeable elements. Scenario will be searched in the following order :
  1. ~sympa/expl/mylist/scenari/send.x (if in a list context)
  2. ~sympa/etc/family/listfamily/scenari/send.x (if the list belong to a family)
  3. ~sympa/etc/myrobot/scenari/send.x (if in a virtual robot context)
  4. ~sympa/etc/scenari/send.x (you should copy your send scenario HERE)
  5. ~sympa/bin/etc/scenari/send.x (read only directory)

I simply modified the original scenari (which means that I have to be careful when I upgrade). The scenarios are in: /home/sympa/bin/etc/scenari, or replace /home/sympa with your installation prefix. And for example in the send.private scenario the last line is now:
true()                                         smtp,md5,smime  -> reject,quiet

Before the modification the ,quiet wasn't there. And I did it with every send
scenari.
