The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

I've been running some lists for the last 3 years or so on Lsoft's
Listserv software.  I'm now switching over to sympa.  The only problem I
have is that I want to keep the archives of the list that I already have.
I currently have them in MHonarc format, but I can put them back into a
mailbox format.  

How do I put the archives into sympa, though?  It looks
to me that if I would put the files in $sympa_home/expl/$listname/archives
and followed the digest form closely, that I could just rebuild the
archives using the wwwsympa interface.  However, I've tried, and the old
archives don't show up.  Any suggestions?
