If your list has less than 4228 members, check that you do not have lots of members in the Exclude list.  Since you say you removed the members, you may have added them to the exclude list?  The list members will be:  (intersection of( all external datasources ), less exclude list, plus directly subscribed members)

I suspect you have all members in the exclude list.   Back in sympa 6.1 I had a custom web template to allow the exclude list to be edited, but I have lost it now

So it sees the data, but never loads it into the list.

I removed all the original subscribers in this list, and now am trying to get new members subscribed.

What should I look for to troubleshoot this?
