just an idea, without looking into details: it may be due to selinux restrictions, if you use selinux (… works well with sympa, after a few minor adaptations)
you could find out:

(if you use selinux:)
if you have installed setroubleshoot* (sudo yum install setroubleshoot*), you can use:

sudo sealert -a /var/log/audit/audit.log

to find out, if selinux is interfering. The command also outputs info how to solve the problems, if there is any.

we have Sympa 6.2.13 on a Centos 7.4 system and I have several lists that load subscribers by a file that is downloaded to the server.  In the field

File inclusion (include_file)

I put a directory and file specification:

But it never seems to get loaded into the list.  Currently the file's permissions is:
-rw-r--r--. 1 opuslists root       341658 Sep 24 03:20 PAR_EMAIL.TXT

I've tried with an owner of opuslists:opuslists, but it still didn't load.

The log shows:
Sep 24 13:24:49 listserv task_manager[3511]: notice main::execute() Running task /var/spool/sympa/task/address@concealed, line 0 with vars )
Sep 24 13:24:49 listserv task_manager[3511]: info Sympa::List::_include_users_file() 4148 included users from file /home/opuslists/PAR_EMAIL.TXT
Sep 24 13:24:49 listserv task_manager[3511]: info Sympa::List::_include_users_list() 80 included users from list Sympa::List <address@concealed>
Sep 24 13:24:50 listserv task_manager[3511]: notice Sympa::List::sync_include(Sympa::List <address@concealed>) 0 users updated

So it sees the data, but never loads it into the list.

I removed all the original subscribers in this list, and now am trying to get new members subscribed.

What should I look for to troubleshoot this?
