It depends on the mail client. You might have pressed 'reply' instead of 'reply list' or 'followup' Check the 'to:' line before pressing 'send.'

Mh - why did the reply not go to the list - only to the person answering my
question?

Thank you, Soji, for the detailed instructions. I think I try this over the
weekend and let you (and others who might be interested) know about my
results.

Hello IKEDA Soji. On Mon, 9 Oct 2017 17:29:19 +0900, you wrote:

I had played with macOS Sierra. To install Sympa from source,
following software were required:

* Perl 5 interpreter: Perl 5.18 or so has already been installed.

* Database: SQLite may be used for low-volume site. It does not need
database server (see below).

* MTA: Postfix has already been installed.
Sympa need MTA (inbound and outbound) running on the same host.

Mh - two questions here:

- is Postfix included in the standard MacOS Sierra, or do I need the Server
app?

- How can I get mails from the POP3 accounts at my access provider, and can I
send using the provider’s SMTP server?
a) Is there a possibility to instruct either SYMPA or Postfix to get the
incoming messages?
b) I think there are some mail domains who do not like to receive messages
directly from an MTA at a dynamic IP address. So sending using Postfix via
the provider’s SMTP should be possible.

Best wishes, Christian
