Ray,

The config file location is set in a file at /home/sympa/bin/Sympa/Constants.pm. Check in there for a constant called CONFIG, and see what it is set to. It's one of the first ones in that file, so you don't have far to look.

Does that location square up with where your config file is located?

Tim

Hey Timothy,

Thanks for responding and sorry it has taken so long to respond.  When we applied the recommended fix (sympa.pl --upgrade_config_location before sympa.pl --upgrade) we still encountered the “Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at /home/sympa/bin/Conf.pm line 205” issue.

Thanks

Hey there Ray. Can you provide some more details on your problem? What errors are you seeing?

Hello,

I attempted the fix recommended by Tim earlier in this thread and the problem still exists.  Is there anything else I could try?

Thanks

Nope, I didn’t see that, I read the readme’s that came in the distribution. Oh well, I got it going and it has been working for me since this weekend.

+1 for the new wwwsympa portal!

Hi Tim,

Did you you follow the upgrade instructions I wrote here: https://www.sympa.org/faq/upgrade-to-v6.2

It specifies explicitely to run sympa.pl --upgrade_config_location before sympa.pl --upgrade.

If you did and still had the problem, then it's a bug.

Regards,

David

I figured it out. The config file sympa.conf moved from /etc/sympa.conf to /etc/sympa/sympa.conf. After that (and a bug fix you saw in another email), I was able to get the upgrade going.

Anyone run into this problem when running sympa.pl --upgrade?

sympa@ip-10-171-1-49:~/bin$ ./sympa.pl --upgrade
Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at /home/sympa/bin/Conf.pm line 205.

If not I’ll put in a ticket on it.

I’m having the worst time with sympa Image removed by sender. Frowning faceThe stable release hasn’t been stable, so I’m trying the beta but failed to upgrade at the final step.
