Hi,

When installed, archived.pl ownership is the sympa user and group.
It can be changed after but is highly disrecommended.
The init script launches archived.pl because, as any init script, it is 
executed by the root user.

Your suggestion to check ownership of sympa binaries by the init script 
is interesting but these are defined in the sympa config, so if the 
config changes, the init script should be changed. This can also lead to 
troubles.
But probably less than a badly defined ownership due to shel manipulation.
