having trouble getting Sympa to run. First of all, the "--chuid"
option isn't being recognized at Sympa startup. If I remove this
option, it seems to start OK. The boilerplate /etc/init.d/sympa at
http://www.open-organizations.org/twiki/pub/Socialtools/StandardSympa/sympa
specifies this option, which Sympa itself refuses.
Indeed, in that script the --chuid is not passed to Sympa; it is passed to the Debian program start-stop-daemon. That installation script is for Debian systems only. More generally, the SocialTools installation instructions for Sympa have a number of dependencies, which are described on the SocialTools web site (http://www.open-organizations.org/view/Socialtools/ServerConfigStandard).
