A little more info:

The problem is that listmaster has somehow lost access to "get pending lists"
function. The only thing I've done to listmaster is change its password
using the Sympa interface. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Copying to 'sympa-users'... If anyone has any suggestions, please advise.

I followed the suggestion in http://www.sympa.org/fom-serve/cache/72.html on
turning off the setuid bit. If turning off setuid breaks other things,
perhaps you guys should take it out of there so nobody would get any bright
ideas about it. :-) Anyway, I turned setuid back on and Apache and Sympa
now seem to be playing well with each other, and Sympa seems to be e-mailing
OK.

I've got a different problem now. I've created several "test lists" that are
awaiting approval by the admin. While they're all pending, when the
listmaster logs in, he's being told nothing about this. I don't see a way to
approve those lists.

I have the following in sympa.conf:
listmaster listmaster@<domain>

Authentication for "listmaster@<domain>" succeeds every time, so I'm positive
that a wrong password isn't the problem here.

Thanks.

But wwsympa.fcgi requires the SetUID bit, otherwise it will run as user
'apache' and lots of features will be broken.
An alternative is to have Apache run as user 'sympa'.
