I recommend you:

- go to   http://www.lyris.com/help
- choose any version after 5.0
- search on "merge"
- view pages such as "Using Mail Merge Tags"

They have extended their merging capabilities to database fields, for example:

Dear  %%merge Members_.FullName_%%

which gets the Fullname_ field from the Members_ table. Clever.
