Greetings,

Maybe good to know: I just installed Sympa on an Ubuntu 16.04 server (with postfix, dovecot, squirrelmail) using “sudo apt-get install sympa” and ended up with a running Sympa but no WWS.

The Apache2 config is not even touched.

I also did not find any manual or examples to configure WWS manualy.

The idea of starting from scratch on a now server with Ubuntu 16.04 was my plan to solve the problem of the production server losing the web interface.

My production server is not useable since 2 weeks because an Apache upgrade to v2.4 disabled the web interface (“list server is in maintenance mode”).

Now our moderators are hunting me and there is no solution in view.

Also:

The Ubuntu documentation (http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/man8/sympa.8.html)  states “The full documentation in HTML and PostScript formats can be found in  /usr/share/doc/sympa/html/.“ : this directory does not exist after the installation.

Interesting:

- apt-get install sympa puts files in /usr/lib, /var/lib, ...

- manual installation puts those under /home/sympa

I have two days left to get this working again or I’m toast.

Happy 2017 everyone,

Mark
