I've occasionally had a situation where Sympa gets stuck,
accepting messages but never distributing them.

If you do "service sympa restart", the message causing issues will
be deposited in /var/spool/sympa/msg/bad and the logjam breaks,
with messages that had been received being correctly sent out.
I assume this is because some stuck process was holding a lock
that prevented anything else from getting through.

Typically this seems to be caused by malformed spam messages,
but even those should of course not be able to do this.

I am currently running sympa / sympa-httpd 6.2.80-1 rpm packages
on Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.10 (Ootpa)

Anyone else see behavior like this? It happens rarely enough
that it is hard to debug what gets stuck.
