Fixing that was a one-line patch.  I've posted it as a comment to that 
issue.

I've also posted a bug report in the 'slonko' Gentoo repository on the 
wwsympa.fcgi issue, but the repository maintainer has not responded.  I 
don't know whether he ever actually *tested* the 6.2.78 ebuild.  I have 
a strong suspicion that the problem relates to how the fastcgi service 
is configured, but I'm not knowledgeable enough about fastcgi to confirm it.
