Thanks for all the hints. If I stop apparmor  it makes no difference.

So, unfortunately, I haven't found it yet.

If I try to figure it out: I send an email to the list server. It processes it and prepares it for further distribution. It is /usr/local/sympa/bin/queue that does that. It expects text via a pipe. I think the mailq output shows that text, for example ‘T.listserver.prompt.nl.1770067180.1241881’, is not found. If I offer /usr/local/sympa/bin/queue text myself, it works fine.

Where should that text be located? When I search with find, I cannot find a file with the name ‘T.listserver.prompt.nl.1770067180.1241881’.

I've never heard of ProtectSystem before so I don't know how to disable it, but this might be your issue?

Is that something like AppArmor?  The advice at the hosting company I used to work for was, "Disable AppArmor, you can't stop it from breaking things."
