Hi,

I signed up for Translate Sympa and (with the support of ChatGPT) made some translations. My score is 200. What does that mean? Surely not that I have done 200 translations. It felt like significantly fewer to me.

That doesn't yet help me with my actual problem, but it enhances my understanding of Sympa and the translation mechanism.

Where can I find the *.mo file enriched by my translations so that I can integrate it into my installation? Or is it still somewhere under review?

Best regards,
Ralph

Hi,

I have successfully installed Sympa.

A colleague is now working intensively with the program. He noticed that
the interface is entirely in German, and the welcome message is also
sent in German. However, when he looks at the templates, they are all in
English. How is that possible?

There are files of translated strings that have the English string and the
corresponding string in the other language. In the distribution, the
German translations are:

po/sympa/de.po
po/web_help/de.po

They are compiled into Gnu message catalogs when you build the software, and the
software looks up the translated strings at runtime.

Also see this site where the translations are managed:

R's,
John
