My college has used Mailman v2 for over a decade now and we are transitioning to using Sympa.  We have over 500 mailing lists where we automated list membership using bash scripts to build flat data files and then used Mailman’s sync_members command to add and remove subscribers from those lists.

I see there are command line options in Sympa to add or delete subscribers/moderators/owners but nothing directly equivalent to sync_members.  I have also seen that I could include a local file as a data source in Sympa.  In our early testing we had testing including members of an AD group using and LDAP level 2 include file.

Do most Sympa admins handle list membership automation through data sources or command line scripts?
