Hi Betty,

The "[%|helploc%]" tags are only used for internationalization. Their content define key used in the internationalization dicionnaries.

You can therefore totally ignore them if you write in English only.

Note that you don't need them either when helploc has arguments. You can simply use the variable names it contains in the string, between variable tags.

For example, you can replace :

[%|helploc(conf.email,domain)%]<strong>send commands by email</strong> to the Sympa mailing list manager at <strong>%1@%2</strong>.[%END%]

With :

<strong>send commands by email</strong> to the Sympa mailing list manager at <strong>[% conf.email %]@[% domain %]</strong>.

I’ve made custom user/owner guides to replace some of the Sympa-provided help documents. What’s really slowing me down is having to include the [%...%] tags everywhere. Do I actually need to use them?  Aside from using [%|helploc(domain)%] so that links in that line generate the correct URL for the domain of the Sympa instance
