Thanks a lot for the pointer, that was it! Because we want to handle
embeded php in .html files, we pass any link terminating with .html to
php (well, there might be better way, I'm not sure and I'm far from
being a html/php wizzard).

When using buttons on the sympa web interface, this does not go through
.html links, so it is handled by wwsympa, and all is well, but when we
click on a link on the site, it ends with .html, and goes to php (which
returns 404).

The solution is to separate things. I made a vhost for the sympa web
(list3.linusfromscratch.org), which is completely independent on
gimli.linuxfromscratch.org.
