Hi Tom,

Hi, all -

Sorry for the long change to the subject line, but it looks like just what I am trying to do, which is:

1) Have the list address as the 'from' source
2) Also show the sender's name with 'via the list...'
3) Have a reply to address of the original sender instead of the list

What I am doing now is using the list address as the Anonymous Sender and a reply to of 'both' but it's only going back to the list, not both.  I;m on 6.2.3
In this particular case, John's mail triggered our DMARC protection (a little over-enthusiastically as the "p" parameter from its DNS record is "none" - I'll fix our configuration).

So if you rely on this configuration, you won't control whose mail From field will be affected. It will only depend on whether the sender domain has a DMARC record or not.

You can easily achieve points 1 and 3:

1- set the "anonymous_sender" list config parameter to the lists's address
3- set the "reply_to_header" list config parameter to:
    - value: list
    - apply: force

I don't see any solution for point 2.

You could maybe try to use the message_hook parameter that allows you to create your own script to mannipulate the messages before sending them. You can find info in the beta release notes (https://www.sympa.org/previous_release_note?s[]=message&s[]=hook#mail_hooks) but please note that Soji considers this feature "experimental".

Cheers,

David

Yup, that's what I did.  I'm using multiple robots so it's actually
is_user([sender], "listb", "robotc")

That's way too exciting.
