The way the DMARC patch works is by changing the From address to be the list address, and thus avoid the SPF/DKIM failure. However, if someone clicks ‘reply’ then their mail client will most likely set the new reply email to go to the From address, which is back to the list. This may be what you want – such as in a discussion list – or may not.
The way around this is to also set the Reply-To destination. Sympa allows you to select the reply destination, which you can set in the Send/Receive setup as reply_to_header. If you have this set to ‘sender’ then you’ll get a Reply-To header added with the original sender, and your mail client’s ‘Reply’ function should make the replies default to that. You can also force the setting, or make it set to something else of course.

Hi Guys,
The dmarc policy is causing us a lot of issues. Basically people are complaining about accidentally emailing a list when they attempt to email an individual because the email clients seem to cache email address as display name of sender <listaddress>.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
Thanks,
Youcef |
