I've at least 4 sympa instance with the same setup and I also never seen
such issue.

optdesc() seems to be defined in src/lib/tt2.pm and optdesc filter
seems to be used in (command_report.tt2, info_report.tt2, etc.)

What was the previous version of sympa installed before the upgrade?
