The previous version was 5.1.2

The data_sources directory had only 2 .incl files & they were nested in a folder within it's list directory

In version 5.1.2, the data sorces are defined within the config file, I believe the 6.1.23 & 24 use the below:


Defining the data sources for list owners and moderators

List owners can be defined using external data sources the same way members are. The main difference is related to the configuration parameters : data sources are not directly defined in the list configuration file, they come from a separate .inc file located in the data_sources/ directory. The owner_include list configuration parameter then refers to this data source file. This different configuration approach has been adopted to lessen the number of list configuration parameters.

List moderators are defined the same way with the editor_include configuration parameter.

On the old sympa we have:

On the new one there is no data source in the dropdown box:

& it is looking for a file named

Not sure if that is a bug, does your install look any different?

Looks like your custom datasource ( .incl file in the data_sources directory) is missing or unreadable.  Possibly when you upgraded, it was lost -- did you put it into the installed data_sources directory (where it would be removed when you upgrade) or in the /etc/sympa/data_sources custom directory (or wherever you configured to be your config dir, where it would be preserved)?

SYMPA 6.1.23 & SYMPA 6.1.24

Not sure if this is a bug or something I am missing

When managing list owners/moderators
Documentation states that you should be able to add from:
 another mailing list (local or remote)


However the dropdown box for:
 Owners defined in an external data source (owner_include) (default)
 Moderators defined in an external data source (editor_include) (default)


Is empty & logs show errors I think are related: (previous data source was
list (now unavailable from dropdown box))

Date host task_manager[30891]: err List::sync_include_admin() Could not get
editors from an include source for list *****

These list were fine in a previous version of sympa
