Two different ways I know of.

1)      Make Joe, Bob and Fred into moderators.  Then they can post.

2)      Put Joe, Bob and Fred’s email addresses into a file in the search_filters, and give the list a custom send scenario that checks the file for people allowed to post before moving on to the normal behaviour.  You could even hardcode them into a custom send scenario though that is not very maintainable.

We achieved (2) by installing the whitelist/modlist addon for Sympa, that gives every list a configurable whitelist which you can add Joe and his friends to.

If you’re using Sympa 6.1.19+, I can give you a copy of the two new web_tt2 templates, line to add to the existing nav.tt2, and the include scenario to make whitelists and modlists work.

I have a moderated list. I want to make a few people “special” so that they can bypass moderation and post to the list unfettered.

Something like:

  • Everyone’s posting is submitted to the moderator(s)
  • Joe, Bob and Fred’s postings go straight to the list.

That is the desired configuration. Is this possible?

Asbed
