And here's the recommendations (I believe totally along the lines of your patch, Steve) from dmarc.org for mailing list software modification, courtesy of the Mailman devs:

I attach (yet another) patch for Sympa 6.1.19 for your consideration
that addresses the recent Yahoo DMARC issues. This modifies the List.pm
file to munge the From header in certain circumstances as discussed in
this list last week. It should work against most 6.1.x branch versions;
I’ve not tried it with 6.2.x.

Thanks for the patch, Steve. I'm not sure yet which way we're headed,
and I believe any solution requires changing our whole DKIM setup (to
let Sympa do it, instead of Postfix/OpenDKIM). But it also looks like
we're all going to have to do *something*, because Yahoo isn't going to
back down, and that probably means all other big providers will go the
same way soon:

Sympa team, it appears Sympa must somehow incorporate DMARC compliance.
I don't think we've seen anything from you yet about this topic, so
can you please let us know you're taking it seriously?
