This has been seen by several people now. I spent a few weeks going back and forth with the Perl developers, looking at crash dump stack traces and perl source tracing, but ultimately did not have the time to pursue it. I ended up working around the problem by compiling an older perl (perhaps the 5.12 stable?) and pointing wwsympa.pl to it. Not a long-term solution by any means, unfortunately.

wwsympa from Sympa 6.1.7 is dying with this message when accessed using
Fast CGI under Perl 5.14.2:

kernel: [45837.172022] wwsympa.fcgi[13501]: segfault at 7 ip 080c84de sp
bfbb50c0 error 4 in perl[8048000+163000]

I have tried both Apache with mod_fcgid and also ngnix with fcgiwrap.
However, running wwsympa-wrapper.fcgi from the command line, it works.

This configuration is likely to become common since it is under Ubuntu
12.04, the long-term support release.

How could I fix this?
