Hi,
We have been using Sympa for many years here in the Department of
Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley. We are at
version 5.4.5 and have been sitting there comfortably for a couple
years. In general everyone is very happy with it.
But, the one question we are frequently asked is if we could include
"real names" (i.e. gecos information) on those lists that are built from
data sources (some from LDAP, some from Oracle).
I looked into manually updating the comment_subscriber field in the
subscriber_table table, where the name seems to be stored for those
subscribers, but it is wiped out the next time the list membership is
updated from the data source.
I looked at the Sympa 6 documentation, and this does not seem to be
addressed in that version. Am I correct?
Have any patches been submitted to address this issue? If not, and you
were going to fix it, what approach would you take?
Thanks for any help!
