Hi,

After: "configure; make; make install", you can run your Sympa server. Nothing else need to be done, if it is a plain install and not an upgrade.
You will nedd to ensure your MTA and web server are set up to work with Sympa.
After that, you whould be able to use the startup script located in /home/sympa/init/sympa (to be copied into your /etc/init.d directory).

If it doesn't work, just try to launch /home/sympa/bin/sympa.pl (with an optional '-d' option which will increase the log level and keep the script in foreground) and send use the logs.

What install script are you talking about?
How do you know it tries to look for /etc/sympa.conf? Could you please provide some logs?

Cheers,

Hello all,

I'm having issues installing 5.4. Based off the documentation I'm a little lost as to what I do after:

./configure --prefix=/opt/sympa/
make
make install

docs are a little sketchy about an install script, but when I run it, it tries to look for /etc/sympa.conf which doesn't make any sense because of my --prefix

Cheers

Miles
