THANK YOU! I had the same problem. I am using CNAMEs for my virtual hosts and
they were getting resolved to the physical hostname of the system in the
reply-to address which would cause mail delivery issues. I had gone to the
extent of modifying my templates to manually set the reply-to address to the
address that I wanted to use. But setting the host robot parameter works much
better!

On second thought : Lists initialize their domain name using the "host"
robot parameter. So it may be the reverse problem: host (robot)
parameter badly defined or not defined at all (which would lead to use
defaults).
