Thanks, this solved the problem. I definitely needed the libxml2-devel package, which itself required a third 'zlib-devel' package.

This RPM is for libxml version "1" and you need libxml version "2" (or 'libxml2' as the package name would be labeled). You will also likely need the 'libxml2-devel' to get all the files required to build the LibXML perl module.

You can get the Fedora Core 5 provided libxml2 RPMs that you need from a Fedora mirror site here:

http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/core/5/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS
