ok that is a bit nasty.

fair enough - but I NEED to have _at least_ topics + html & topics + text
only available (forget digests+topics) to match the functionality on the
existing system i am replacing with SYMPA .
Otherwise I will have to create 154+ mailinglists each with only 1 (fixed)
topic instead of 1 list with 154+ topics - which seems much easier to
implement, especially as I will be building custom pages in our CMS to
handle the default web based subscription process anyway. The mailinglist
that I want to create for this project is basically sending the latest
version of a specific web page to interested subscribers every time its
contents are significantly updated (and yes we do have RSS feeds, but we
also have 20000 subscribers who prefer the email updates)
So if i am going to go ahead and implement this, I guess I could create this
array of combinations and allow the ones that I need or are easy to
implement (and that make sense 8-), and block anything that isnt
implemented or sensible.
If it cant be folded back into the main code base then I'll just have to
maintain a set of patches . It would be nice to fold it back in though ...
