ahah! Excellent. I've got suexec ready, so was wondering what I was missing... :)

That message is much much clearer, but it does sound like suidperl isn't a good long term solution.

Hi Nigel,

Actually we changed this notification in the next release :

## You don't have suidperl installed."
## Suidperl is the default way to run WWSympa with SetUID."
## Among other options, you can use suExec with Apache"
## Check Sympa reference manual for more details"

Maybe we should even discourage this solution (that had the advantage of been quite transparent for the listmaster).

Another solution that we didn't explore yet is using Sudo to run wwsympa setuid. Any feedback is welcome....

I'm trying to put together a package installer for sympa for Mac OS X, and in the course of re-installing, I've noticed I had this error:

## Suidperl is required to run WWSympa with SetUID.

Note that the security scare is only relevant for those who arefoolish enough to build suidperl (which is now officially discouraged)

Is it really required? Apple aren't distributing perl with suidperl, and it seems like other vendors are stopping it too.
