Hi all,
Recently I just installed Sympa on CentOS 4 sucessfully after a number of failure attempts. The problem I experienced before is CPAN can not install all Perl modules sucessfully.
I followed a guide written by Craig Hancock , MACE-MLIST (Middleware-Enabled Mailing List Working Group)(http://middleware.internet2.edu/mlist/sympa_rpm/Fedora%20Sympa%20Install2.htm), MACE-<LIST also made a RPM package for Sympa 5.1(http://middleware.internet2.edu/mlist/sympa_rpm/sympa-5.1-16.i386.rpm), it automates some post-installation configuration procedures such as setup up sympa user, create database, etc. Still I need to modify sympa.conf, wwsympa.conf and httpd.conf by myself. Ita lso take some extra time to solve some permission/ownership issues to make it acceptably
functional.
Craig suggested to install all Perl modules from RPM, I used yum and http://rpm.pbone.net to get all Perl modules RPM packages. It might take quite a while to install all those modules since there are a number of dependencies.
I did not install fastcgi and only use wwsympa.fcgi as normail CGI, the performance is poor, is there any other way to improve rather than use fastcgi?
Regards
Zhang Qu
