Hi Dean,

Sorry for not responding to your previous message ; we are just very busy these times and we skip some messages though they are of interest for the sympa users community...

My question from two weeks ago (below) was either too simple-minded to address or too difficult to think about. So I’ll re-define it, and hope to break the silence:

·         What does it take to create a custom page that calls specific data from expl and the db, (is it possible)? Are there any examples to work from?

The simplest customization would be to change an existing templates and just use available data (note that some list-related and user-related are prepared at a high level in wwsympa.fcgi ; therefore some might be available though we don't use them in default web templates).

A more complicate customization would be to add one or more new actions in wwsympa.fcgi. To do so, take another action as an example (like do_home()) and basically you should follow the steps listed here : http://www.sympa.org/fom-serve/cache/263.html

·         How can I request list-specific and user-specific variables on a page that doesn’t do this by default (using [% PERL %])?

If the required data are not already available, then you should prepare the needed data in the action's subroutine, taking others as example.

I hope the bootstrap is enough to help you start ...
