Yes true. If you need this var in the home page, you may change the 
default action in sympa with parameter default_home in wwsympa.conf then 
customize list.us.tpl

Which browser ? You should report this as a bug using

Really strange. Did you edit the scenario ? Remember that editing 
scenario need deamon to be restarted (or change/touch list config file).

Quite good now but do not use 5.0b1 tar.gz file but the cvs version.
