The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

Hello,

I want to try sympa on my web host, but the default directories that sympa 
installs to are not
accessible to me, and I do not have enough Unix knowledge to figure out how 
to reconfigure sympa. 
Can anyone point me in the right general direction?  

I only have access to modify /home/mydomain/.   My web folder is 
/home/mydomain/public_html/.  

When I type ./configure, I get the error, C compiler cannot make executables. 
  I haven't been
able to move past there yet to changing the install directories.
