The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

Hi all,

I would really appreciate if someone could help with the problem I am
having with sympa v3.4.4.3. as outlined in an earlier email to the user
group (attached below). I have also reported this on the Sympa bug tracker
system but to date haven't got any feedback.

The problem is that since we moved from version 3.4.4.1 to 3.4.4.3 of
Sympa, when a user creates a list, the alias addresses are not being
created. In order to get around the problem I have to manually run the
alias manager i.e.
# su -c '/home/sympa/bin/alias_manager.pl add cp_pgstudent
list.ittralee.ie' - apache
As sympa is used by all of our staff to create lists, I have to manually
run this command quite often. Has any one out there come accross this
problem and found a solution?

Please help. Aliases are not created when we create a list from wwsympa
but I can see it in the logs. We are using Sympa v3.4.4.3 on Red Hat
Linuix v7.1....

sympa's log:
# grep /home/sympa/bin/alias_manager.pl /var/log/sympa.log
Feb 2 17:00:53 listserv-2 wwsympa[2280]: /home/sympa/bin/alias_manager.pl
add cp_pgstudent list.ittralee.ie

and alias_manager.pl doesn't return any errors.

If I run the command manually, it does work :
# su -c '/home/sympa/bin/alias_manager.pl add cp_pgstudent
list.ittralee.ie' - apache
/etc/aliases: 45 aliases, longest 37 bytes, 606 bytes total
/etc/mail/sympa_aliases: 2113 aliases, longest 95 bytes, 193147 bytes total

It was working fine in sympa-3.4.4.1.

Additional Information  # ll /home/sympa/bin/
-rwsr-xr-x 1 sympa sympa 5597 Jan 20 14:20 alias_manager.pl
-rwsr-x--- 1 root sympa 26450 Jan 20 14:20 aliaswrapper
# ll /etc/mail
-rw-r--r-- 1 sympa root 242843 Feb 3 17:24 sympa_aliases
