Replacing path to MhOnarc binary with your a wrapper that does both mail2news and a call to mhonarc is a good idea. You should check the archived.pl to see what parameter are passed to mhonarc.

You asked us for an export interface to easily plug external programs that processes each distributed messages. We agree on the concept ; we just need to define the design and some time to code it. Please add your feature request to Mantis :

and i've supposed was OK, but as you can note, also for -owner call the queue program.

2nd problem : editing the subscriber gecos field
We we have fixed 2 problems related to editsubscriber feature.
One was related to web templates, including Italian. Here is the fix :

As far as I can remember, another problem happened when the owner was 
also subscribed to the list. Here are fixes :
