The first thing to check is your DNS cache and your firewall settings
(if you have one). DNS can slow things down. The same is true for paket
filters dropping incoming connections to port 113/TCP (IDENT protocol)
of your mail server. Either reject IDENT queries with TCP RST or run an
IDENT daemon.

Of course in such cases it is always helpful if you tell us a bit about
your setup. My crystal ball gets often strained to the limit. ;-)
