I had a little problem with that when doing the german translation.
Some of the texts are used in multiple roles: HTML/WWSympa,
ASCII/email-contents (7BIT/MIME ...), ASCII/log files.
The problem: How to code german "Umlaute"? Today I believe that it is
best to use ISO chracters here. Most of the other translators did this.
That may fail with 7BIT and some browsers. But it gives the best base
fix the problem in the future.
