Yes indeed, Sympa.pl use both the file name made by queue and a custom
header x-sympa-to, in addition there is method to prevent sympa.pl
to open a file that is still not closed by queue.
You must pipe the incomming message to the program queue as documented.

That's a sendmail feature. Look at sendmail documentation and logs. Check
if incomming messages are stored in the spool/msg directory.

Yes you can because Postfix provide a sendmail compatible binary.
