The mailing list for listmasters using Sympa

I think that I have everything configured correctly, as I did have a
mailing list working correctly not too very long ago.
But since then, everything has stopped working, and the only things
I can find out are these:

`mailq` outputs this:

MAA30493        0 Thu Aug 19 12:02 <address@concealed>
                 (Deferred)
                                   "|/var/sympa/bin/queue 0 sympa"

this comes after I send a mail to address@concealed with the
subject
"subscribe list1"

if I send an email to address@concealed (which
I HAVE defined in /etc/aliases and run newaliases), it puts this in the
queue

MAA30546        0 Thu Aug 19 12:09 <address@concealed>
                 (Deferred)
                                   "|/var/sympa/bin/queue 1
list1-subscribe"

Is there any more information I can give any of you to get some help?
I've been working on it for 2 days now, and I have become quite
frustrated.
