Hi,

The alt email usage is deactivated in most recent Sympa distribution, 
because we have troubles finding a rational in their usage.
The main problem is that, when a user needs to authenticate, we nned to 
decide whether we will, or won't, allow the alt email usage.
For example, on some lists, we need to enforce usage of official 
addresses, in order to know who is acting and on behalf of which 
organization. So this is probably something that should be tweaked at 
the list level.
In addition, the usage of alt emails can be considered for all the Sympa 
actions : sending, browsing archives, subscribing, unsubscrigbing... 
i.e. at least all the actions controlled by scenarios. For example we 
could allow users to browse archives whatever email address they are 
logged in with, but force them to use their organization email address 
to post to the list.

Such a fine tweaking should be needed, but if we introduce a choice 
between main address and alt email addresses in scenrios, their 
complexity will increase, and we really don't need that.

So... Thinking in progress.
