Hi,

is the appearance of [base_url] in e.g. admin_menu.*.tpl really needed?
I can't imagine a case where the path_cgi wouldn't suffice, and in fact,
a lot of templates use just path_cgi.

The usage of base_url is causing me problems at a client site where the 
web server is only accessible via IP address from the LAN, but puts
it's hostname in base_url, thus making navigation rather painful...
